3 Understandings For Wellness

Wellness is a daily set of well-being behaviors throughout a life, not a 30-day diet.

If not mindful of the patterns of overuse (e.g. with alcohol or internet), the person is one step closer to abuse. Overuse is a sign that there is a form of stress that causes one to lose focus on behavior and consequences.

It's Meaning
We tend to focus on a cluster of physical and psychological symptoms to diagnose a person "with addiction." Addiction to a substance and or activity tends to become the centre of a person's daily life. Not all addictions arose from abuse, some addictions happen rapidly.

It's Challenge
Addiction causes a negative identity of the self. "Hi. I'm John, I'm an addict." has misled many people to believe this statement enhances recovery and sobriety. Instead, it causes long-term low self-esteem. Addiction is "what you are with," it is not who you are.
